Cyprus vs Portugal vs Malta vs UAE

The four destinations most relocators short-list against Cyprus. Headline differences in tax, residency path, climate, language and schools — to help you sanity-check the choice.

Audited 22 September 2026

Every row here was re-checked against the issuing government’s own pages. Eight values were corrected and one whole column was removed: a “cost index” that carried no benchmark, no unit and no source, so there was no honest way to publish it. Tax and citizenship rules in all four countries change most years — Portugal changed both in 2026 — so treat this as a shortlist tool and take the decision to a professional in the jurisdiction.
